15 Best (And Safest) Trampolines for Toddlers, Preschoolers & Older Kids

Is there anything cuter in this entire world than seeing your kids jumping for joy on their new trampoline? We really don’t think that there is. If you want to give your little ones one of the best experiences ever, you need a trampoline for kids in your backyard ASAP.

A while back, we wrote an awesome and pretty extensive review of the best backyard trampolines for older kids and adults. As cool as those trampolines are, your tots might need a bit more safety and protection while they’re having a bounce.

So we wanted to take it one step further, and research how many toddler-friendly trampolines there are, and what they’re all about. Here’s what we found out.

Quick View – Best Trampolines for Toddlers & Preschoolers

NOTE: I usually try to include a “Budget Pick” in my toy roundups for parents on a budget. But when it comes to trampolines, trying to save a few bucks at the expense of your kids safety just did not seem prudent so I did not include any of the super-cheapo trampolines that litter the marketplace.

Toddler Trampolines: 1– 4 Years Old

First, let’s see what the ultimate trampoline for kids who are a bit younger is, and what its best safety features are. Of course, all of the trampolines that we’re going to talk about are top of the line and just a whole lot of fun.

Skywalker Trampolines Bounce-N-Learn Trampoline With Enclosure

Best Overall Toddler Mini Trampoline

One of the first things that anyone notices about the Skywalker trampoline for toddlers is the fantastic design. There’s the dark blue one with moon and stars, gray astronaut one, red with a zoo theme, blue with sea creatures, and another gray with a spaceship. So no matter what your toddlers like or are passionate about, there’s definitely something for them.

Another cool thing about the Skywalker trampoline is that you can keep it both outside and inside. It’s small enough to fit in most nooks and crannies, but wide enough for growing kids to use.

The Safety Features

The Skywalker trampoline for kids has a ton of features that allow your little ones to jump and play safely. For starters, it has a sewn-in enclosure net placed directly under the jumping mat. So even if your tots bounce a bit too high, the Skywalker system will be there to catch them.

The trampoline also has a sturdy frame, as well as interlocking handlebars for extra stability. Essentially, the padded handlebars give your kiddos something to hold onto while they’re jumping for joy.

Things to Consider

The one thing that was a bit of a letdown with the Skywalker trampoline is the size options. You can get it in three different variations: 40-inch, 48-inch, and 60-inch. While we certainly love the options, it’s essential to know that you might not get the design that you want with the size you need.

So before you hit Add to Cart, double-check the size to make sure you’re getting the right one.

Bottom Line

All in all, it’s pretty easy to see why Skywalker is the best trampoline for kids between the ages of 3 and 6. It’s also clear why it’s on Amazon’s bestseller list and it’s not a trampoline that you want to miss out on.

What We Like:
5 different design options
Works both indoors and outdoors
Sewn-in enclosure net
Padded safety handlebars
Our Concerns:
The designs aren’t available in all sizes
Not interesting to older kids

Little Tikes Easy Store Trampoline

Best Fold-Up Toddler Trampoline

When you first see the Little Tikes Easy Store Trampoline, you won’t doubt, even for a second,  that it was designed with your littlest ones in mind. The 3-foot trampoline comes in a bright blue color that will make your kiddos jump over the moon.

Even though it’s for children, Little Tikes also put something in for the parents. The trampoline features a foldable handlebar that you can quickly push down when you want to move it to storage. It’s also handy to have if you like to move the trampoline and let your kids use it indoors and outdoors.

The Safety Features

As you can probably tell, the Little Tikes Easy Store is a pretty straightforward trampoline and doesn’t have lots of bells and whistles. So unlike the Skywalker one, there’s no safety net. However, Little Tikes did add a padded handlebar that your kids can hold onto when they’re jumping.

One thing to keep in mind before you let your toddlers run wild is that this trampoline can only support one child at a time. The weight capacity is 55 lbs, so just make sure that it’s being used properly.

Things to Consider

While we truly do love almost everything about the Little Tikes trampoline, we did have one issue with it — the assembly. For starters, the instructions aren’t particularly clear, so it might take a while to figure everything out.

Also, we’ve seen some cases where the holes weren’t drilled correctly. So if you notice any issue with this, contact Little Tikes or the Amazon customer support team right away, and they’ll fix it in no time.

Bottom Line

As always, Little Tikes has some truly incredible products out there, and this trampoline for kids is no exception. It’s sturdy, it’s durable, and most importantly, it’s safe. So if you’ve got a young child at home who loves jumping and bouncing, the Little Tikes trampoline is definitely the way to go.

Smaller trampoline, perfect for younger kids

LBLA Foldable Kids Trampoline

Very Portable

LBLA has designed a trampoline for kids that they can grow into and use for a long time. The bright blue jump pad is made from a high-rebound PP material, that allows your children to bounce long and bounce high.

What’s more, they can spend years playing on the trampoline for hours on end, and it will still be in tip-top shape.

The LBLA trampoline has an adjustable handrail that allows it to meet different height requirements. So if you’ve got toddlers of different ages, they could all easily play on it.

The Safety Features

Since it was designed with younger kids in mind, the LBLA trampoline has a bunch of different safety features. For starters, there’s a padded handrail, as well as a protective circular cover. The cover will safeguard your children from taking any nasty landings, and protect them from minor scratches.

Things to Consider

One thing to consider before you get this awesome trampoline for toddlers is the 132 lbs weight limit. Even though it’s double the capacity of the Little Tikes model, it can only accommodate one kid at a time.

Also, the handrail isn’t adjustable or foldable, so you might have a tougher time finding a good storage spot. But if you live somewhere sunny and have a spacious backyard, you can leave it there. We’re confident that your kids won’t get bored of it for a long time, so it’ll be years before you even need to look for storage.

Bottom Line

The LBLA trampoline is definitely a product we’d recommend for toddlers of all ages. They can grow into it, and you can rest assured that they’ll be safe. This trampoline would also be a fantastic present, so we suggest adding it to your cart before it goes out of stock.

What We Like:
High-rebound PP material
Grows with your kids
Comes with a protective cover
Padded handlebar
Our Concerns:
The handlebar isn’t foldable
Not the best choice if you lack storage space

Wamkos Dinosaur Camo Kids Trampoline

Best Toddler Trampoline with Handlebar

There’s a ton of things that made us fall in love with the Wamkos trampoline, so we’ll start with the most obvious one — the design. This cool camo/dino trampoline will provide the ultimate bouncing experience for any adventure-lover out there.

In addition to being a fantastic trampoline for kids, the Wamkos model can support up to 220 lbs of weight. So if you’ve ever wanted to do a couple of jumps yourself, now is the time to do it.

The Safety Features

Since the Wamkos trampoline is made out of a durable steel frame, the company decided to put a protective cover all around it. There’s also a padded handlebar so that even the youngest members of your household can jump on it. Wamkos has also considered the safety of your lawn and floors, and put rubber-tipped legs on the trampoline.

Things to Consider

The Wamkos trampoline shares a similar problem as many other models on our list — the assembly instructions. The booklet that the company sends along is pretty vague, so it might take a bit of brainstorming to figure it out. Once you do, be prepared to set aside a couple of hours to put the whole thing together.

Bottom Line

Our final verdict of the Wamkos trampoline is that it is an absolute joy to have in your home or backyard. It’s incredibly durable, safe, and the design is completely out of this world. Also, it’s much more than a regular trampoline for kids, since it has such a big weight capacity.

What We Like:
Fun, dino design
Sturdy steel frame
Weight capacity is 220 lbs
Can be used indoors and outdoors

Our Concerns:
The instruction booklet is vague
Takes a while to assemble

Galt Toys Nursery Toddler Trampoline for Ages 1+

Best Trampoline for 1 Year Olds

While we’re on the topic of absolutely adorable trampolines for toddlers, we have to mention the Galt Nursery one. It has the cutest design that we’ve ever seen — it’s basically a smiling little tortoise that your kids can bounce on. Galt’s trampoline for kids is so safe and inviting that it’d make an amazing gift for any tot.

The Safety Features

Even though most kids’ trampolines nowadays are intended for those between the ages of 3 and 6, Galt did it differently. The company made the toy so safe and sturdy that you could even let your one-year-old play on it. There’s a padded cover, as well as non-slip rubber feet, and an easy-grip handle.

Things to Consider

Even though the Galt Tortoise has a pretty straightforward construction, the assembly is a whole different story. To put this trampoline for kids together, you will need two people on the job. But as long as you follow directions and take your time, you should be alright.

Bottom Line

As you can probably tell, we absolutely adore the Galt Tortoise. The design is not something we’ve seen before — it’s so calming and creative. There are also many safety features that will ensure that your little ones don’t get hurt or become afraid of trampolines.

What We Like:
Fun turtle design
An excellent choice for younger kids
Has a padded cover
Durable steel frame

Our Concerns:
The assembly requires two people
The weight capacity is only 44 lbs

The Original Toy Company Trampoline

Easy to Store

We could argue that the Original Toy Company made a trampoline that is a total opposite of the Galt one, and we wouldn’t be far off.

Even though it’s not the most interesting model to look at, the OTC has Galt beaten in the ease of assembly. To put together and disassemble the whole thing, you’ll need less than thirty minutes. That is a huge benefit, especially if you and your kids are often on the move, or you like using the toy indoors and outdoors.

The Safety Features

The OTC has, arguably, made one of the safest trampolines for kids out there. It has ASTM certification, it’s compliant with all US safety standards, and has a bunch of other safety certificates. This trampoline for kids also has a circular pad that you can attach for bonus security.

Things to Consider

As we mentioned earlier, the OTC trampoline isn’t necessarily the most fun to look at. It’s pretty basic and plain, even though it comes in a couple of different colors. Still, if the yellow doesn’t strike your fancy, you can also buy the Deluxe Orange or Pink.

Bottom Line

If you’re worried that your kiddos might jump too high or accidentally hurt themselves on a regular trampoline for toddlers, we definitely recommend the OTC one. You will never have to worry about bumps and bruises with this one because it is constructed incredibly well.

Of course, no matter how safe the toy is, your kids should be under adult supervision at all times.

What We Like:
Extremely safe
Easy to assemble
Perfect for younger kids
The weight capacity is 150 lbs

Our Concerns:
Plain design
Can have a strong chemical smell

Jump2It Kids Portable 2-Person Mini Trampoline

Adjustable Central Handle & Protective Frame Cover

The Jump2It Kids trampoline will be the perfect addition to your backyard if you have several kids. It has a maximum weight capacity of 180 lbs, but more importantly, it’s spacious enough for two tots to jump on it at the same time. You can put the Jump2It trampoline both indoors and outdoors, and let your kids play wherever they like.

The Safety Features

For starters, the Jump2It trampoline, like all the others that we’ve talked about, has a padded handlebar. But unlike most, you can adjust its height, and allow it to grow with your kids. Of course, there’s also a cover for the trampoline edges that will help keep your tots’ toes safe.

Things to Consider

As you can see from the pictures on Amazon, the Jump2It trampoline is a bit more intricate than others. That’s why assembling it can prove to be a pain in the neck. Not only that, but the instructional pamphlet is all over the place, and is sometimes difficult to follow.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any helpful videos online to tell you how to do it. So if you’re feeling lost, your best bet is to call Jump2It for some guidance.

Bottom Line

The Jump2It trampoline for kids is an amazing option, especially if you’ve got a lot of toddlers running around. Thanks to the adjustable handlebar, it will grow with your kids, which means that you won’t have to replace it for a long time.

What We Like:
Fits two kids
Weight capacity is 180 lbs
Adjustable handlebar
Can be used indoors and outdoors

Our Concerns:
The assembly instructions are difficult to follow
Takes a while to put together

Ancheer Mini Rebounder Trampoline With Adjustable Handle for Two Kids

Best Mini Trampoline for Multiple Kids or Parent-Child Bouncing

Just like the previous trampoline for kids that we’ve talked about, the Ancheer Mini Rebounder can also fit two toddlers at the same time. But the one area where Ancheer has Jump2It beaten is the weight capacity.

You see, the weight limit on Ancheer’s trampoline for toddlers is a whopping 220 lbs! So again, you could sneak a bounce here and there, and no one would be the wiser.

NOTE: That product image above is not to scale! Just look at the picture of the Jump2It model above for a more accurate depiction of the scale.

The Safety Features

Just like Jump2It, Ancheer has a padded adjustable handlebar that has 5 different height levels. This trampoline for kids also has a PP jumping mat, safe pad cover, as well as foam covers on all of the tubes. So no matter how old your children are or if they’ve ever played on a trampoline before, they’ll be safe and sound while bouncing up and down.

Things to Consider

One thing that is kind of a letdown when it comes to the Ancheer trampoline is the spring cover. If you’re using the trampoline outside while it’s sunny, over time, the colors on the cover will fade.

Also, for safety reasons, the handlebar isn’t made of steel. While we do appreciate the safety concerns, that also means that it could bend over time, and it’s something that you need to look out for.

Bottom Line

In our professional opinion, the Ancheer trampoline for kids is super fun and really flipping cool! It can hold multiple children at the same, it comes in two colors, and it has an adjustable handlebar. It will last you a long time, and your kids will be jumping for joy every time they see it.

What We Like:
Can hold two kids at the same time
Weight capacity is 220 lbs
Comes in two colors
Adjustable padded bar

Our Concerns:
The colors on the spring cover can fade
The handlebar is not too durable

Preschooler Trampolines: 4 – 6 Years Old

Now that we’ve covered some awesome starter trampolines for toddlers, it’s time to move on to the big leagues. Let’s see who makes the absolute best models for kids that are a bit older. These are all great “transition trampolines” for kids who are too big for a toddler trampoline – but not quite ready for a big kid bouncer.

Little Tikes Climb ‘N Slide Trampoline

Best Toddler Trampoline with a Slide

Little Tikes has genuinely made the ultimate trampoline for all the big boys and girls who love having bouncy fun. It is honestly nothing like we’ve seen before because it features such a fresh design that combines stairs, trampoline, and slide. You can have multiple kids running around and playing on it, and it’ll never feel cramped.

The Safety Features

Just like Skywalker, Little Tikes decided to add an enclosure with two zippers so your kids can bounce safely. While they’re jumping around, you don’t have to worry about them accidentally falling out and hurting themselves. There’s also a padded cover over the springs that will prevent any scratches or bruises.

Things to Consider

Even though the Little Tikes Climb ‘N Slide trampoline is pretty big, the company says that only one child should play on it at a time. It does have a weight capacity of 105 lbs, so it could, in theory, support several kids. Still, if you have more than one child bouncing on it at the same time, we recommend keeping an eye out.

Bottom Line

As you can probably tell, we absolutely adore the Little Tikes trampoline for kids. It combines several different toys, and there’s no way that your children will get tired of it any time soon. Not only that, but Little Tikes made its trampoline extremely sturdy and durable, as well as easy to assemble.

What We Like:
A trampoline with a slide and stairs
Enclosure with two zippers
Padded cover
Durable and sturdy

Our Concerns:
Only supports 105 lbs
On the pricier side

Bounce Pro My First Trampoline Indoor/Outdoor

Best Toddler Trampoline with Net

If you’re looking for a trampoline for toddlers that is going to be passed down from one generation to the next, you need the Bounce Pro. This bad boy has a rust-resistant frame made from galvanized steel. The netting and jump mat are both UV-resistant, so even if you leave the trampoline baking in the sun, the colors will never fade.

The Safety Features

To start, the Bounce Pro trampoline has an extremely secure netting that will hold your kids in while they’re bouncing and having a blast. The frame poles also have a padded cover that ensures a stub-free experience. There’s even a padded cover that goes around the springs.

Things to Consider

Even though we’re really impressed with Bounce Pro’s durable and longevity, it’s not without its faults. The one thing that was a letdown with this trampoline for kids is the weight capacity, which is only 100 lbs. Also, we struggled to make sense of the instruction booklet, so the assembly did take a while.

Bottom Line

The Bounce Pro definitely gets the stamp of approval and it is a must-have trampoline for summer. We love that it was built to last, and that, if you take good care of it, it will be in your family for generations to come.

What We Like:
Galvanized steel frame
UV-resistant netting and mat
Extremely durable and safe
Good for younger and older kids

Our Concerns:
The weight capacity is only 100 lbs
Difficult to assemble

Skywalker Trampolines Jump N’ Dunk Trampoline

Best Transition Trampoline

Next up, we have another insanely cool trampoline from Skywalker, and honestly, this one’s a doozy. The Skywalker Jump N’ Dunk has a basketball hoop in it, along with a breakaway rim.

Also, Skywalker will send you a foam basketball so that your kiddos can start the game right away. It also comes in a few different color schemes that include Blue, Green, Purple, and Stars and Stripes.

The Safety Features

Given that it is for older kids who like to jump high, Skywalker put an enclosure on the trampoline. One cool thing that the company did was to put the enclosure net away from the springs, thus limiting any contact with them. Of course, just for safe measure, Skywalker also put foam padding over the springs.

Things to Consider

The Skywalker Jump N’ Dunk trampoline is built with high-quality materials, but we did have some issues with the padding. If left outside and exposed to the sun for a while, the color will start to fade. Even though it’s only a minor issue, we felt like it was important to mention.

Bottom Line

Could we BE any more in love with the Skywalker Jump N’ Dunk?! Honestly, probably not. It is such a cool trampoline that will encourage your kids to play and want to be outside. The trampoline comes in a bunch of different colors, and it’s super-safe to play on.

What We Like:
Comes with basketball hoop and foam ball
Safety enclosure that is away from the springs
Foam padding
Safe and durable

Our Concerns:
The padding isn’t UV-resistant
Colors might fade over time

Little Tikes Inflatable Jump N’ Slide Bounce House With Heavy-Duty Blower

Great Toddler Trampoline Alternative

Okay, so this one is not technically a “Trampoline” – it’s a bouncy house. But it is definitely a great alternative to a classic Toddler Trampoline. especially for kids that tend to get a lot of ouchies. Bouncy houses tend to be safer than trampolines and in such require less parental supervision, something that I’m sure many parents will appreciate.

As always, Little Tikes took it one step further in its design and blew us out of the water with the Inflatable Jump N’ Slide Bounce House. As the name suggests, it is a trampoline for kids, combined with a bouncy house, and a slide. It is big enough so that up to three kiddos can play on it at the same time, and has a weight capacity of 250 lbs!

The Safety Features

The inside of the bounce house is made from puncture-resistant materials. So even if your children like roughhousing, there’s no way that they could pop the Jump N’ Slide Bounce House. Also, unlike any other trampoline for kids that we’ve talked about, this one doesn’t have any springs, nuts, or bolts that could potentially hurt your little ones.

It is pretty hard to get hurt while surrounded by all those soft surfaces, but it does happen. Most of the injuries I’ve witnessed in my many years as a bouncy house enthusiasts have been kid on kid collisions – usually involving heads and elbows.

Things to Consider

Now, the Jump N’ Slide isn’t really a toy that you could plop in the middle of your living room and let your kids play on it. It is too big to be installed and used indoors, which is understandable, but kind of a letdown. Also, the inflation and deflation process takes a while, so just keep that in mind when setting it up.

Bottom Line

The Little Tikes Jump N’ Slide is a definite winner in our book. It is so fun, bright, and durable. It’s also sort of the perfect trampoline for kids that you could also hop on every once in a while. Since it has a high weight capacity, parents and grandparents can also use it to blow off some steam.

What We Like:
A design that combines a trampoline, slide, and bounce house
Puncture-resistant materials
Weight capacity is 250 lbs
Excellent trampoline alternative for younger kids

Our Concerns:
Kids can’t get the epic bounce height of a trampoline (you need springs for that!)
Too big to be used indoors
You need to inflate it every time you want to use it

Trampolines for Older Kids: 7 Years and Up

Now, let’s talk about the trampolines for all the older boys and girls, who’ve mastered their jumps and are ready to level up. Once your kids reach 6 to 7 years of age they are ready for a classic trampoline and your choice of models are endless.

I have another post that lists all our favorite backyard trampolines for older kids and adults – but the ones listed below are my top picks specifically for kids.

Skywalker Trampolines 15-Foot Jump N’ Dunk

Most Popular Trampoline in the Universe!

Earlier in our trampoline review, we talked about the Skywalker Jump N’ Dunk, and while we do still love it, your older kids might not be such huge fans. Luckily for all of us, the company makes an even bigger and better trampoline, which is almost twice the size of the previous one.

What Makes it a Great “Big Kid Trampoline”

This model has been around for a while and is probably one of the most popular “Mid-Range” trampolines on the market. Despite it’s low price this model has show itself to be very safe, which is a must for a trampoline that will be used by kids.

But lets face it – no kid is gonna get excited when you tell him how safe his new toy is – what kids love about this model is the respectable bounce height and of course the basketball hoop!

When I first saw this model I thought that sticking a hoop inside a trampoline was a recipe for disaster – but according to the reviews the hoop is safe, practically indestructible and will keep kids occupied for hours.

The Jump N Dunk also comes in several kid-friendly colors, including Blue, Camo, Green, and Purple.

Safety Features

Just like with the previous version, Skywalker separated the enclosure net and the springs, to ensure a safer bouncing experience. As a bonus feature, the net has a latch clip and dual zippers. Also, the springs and the poles all have foam covers to protect from bumps.

Things to Consider

Since the Jump N’ Dunk is a pretty large trampoline for kids, the parts come in two separate boxes. Those boxes usually don’t come on the same day, which is kind of a bummer. You should also be prepared to spend a few hours assembling this trampoline because, well, it has so many little parts.

Bottom Line

The Skywalker Jump N’ Dunk is one of Amazon’s bestsellers, and it’s really easy to see why. We love that this trampoline is larger than life, has a basketball hoop, ball, and comes in a few different colors. We also think that Skywalker’s net placement is brilliant, as it allows kids of all ages to play on it.

If you have an aspiring NBA player in the household this model is a slam dunk!

What We Like:
15-foot trampoline
Comes in a few different colors
Latch clip and dual zippers
Weight capacity is 200 lbs

Our Concerns:
Has a lot of moving parts
Weighs 186 lbs

Zupapa 15′ Round Trampoline With Enclosure Net

Superior Quality – Epic Bounce Height

The Zupapa is considered one of the best made trampolines on the market. Basically, this is a slightly better made version of the Skywalker 15 foot Trampoline which will cost you about 30% more depending on where you buy it.

But this is a case where you really do get what you pay for. The materials on the Zupapa are all top quality and will last longer and require less maintenance than their cheaper competitors.

I love the 15 foot model but you can also get the Zupapa round trampoline in a 10-foot or 12-foot model which may be more suitable for smaller yards or younger kids who are new to trampolines.

No matter which one you end up buying, the trampoline will come with detachable stairs coated with galvanized steel.

What Makes it a Great “Big Kid Trampoline”

There are 3 main reasons why I picked the Zupapa as a great Big Kid Trampoline:

Durability

As mentioned above the parts and workmanship on this trampoline are top quality. This is a big deal when it comes to kids who can be pretty tough on their toys! If you purchase a Zuppa it will last longer and you will spend less time on maintenance and repairs.

Epic Bounce

The Zupapa 15-foot model has 108 springs which is well above the industry standard (the Skywalker has 96), combine this with great coil length and high quality spring material and the result is a super smooth, consistent, and exciting jump experience. Kids can get serious air on the Zupapa.

Awesome Weight Limit

The Zuppa 15 foot model can handle a whopping 375 pounds of crazed bouncing kids. Compare that with the 15-foot Skywalker’s 200 pound limit and you can see why I just won’t shut up about this model.

That roughly equates to 3 extra six-year-olds, 2 average sized 12-year-olds or one slightly over weight dad. This is a huge deal if you have a group of 5 kids. With a lesser trampoline some of them may have to “wait their turn” while the others have a blast.

We all know how 6-year-olds feel about waiting their turn!

Safety Features

The first, and probably most important safety feature of the Zupapa trampoline, is that it has a thick foam cover over the springs. Also, those springs are made from galvanized steel and are rust-resistant. The UV-protected mat can withstand up to 425 lbs for the 12-foot and 15-foot models, which is beyond impressive.

Things to Consider

Unfortunately, Zupapa’s trampoline has a problem that we’ve seen way too many times — difficult assembly. Not only does it have a ton of moving parts that you have to put together, but the instructions are also all over the place.

Bottom Line

The Zupapa 15-Foot Trampoline is at the top of the food chain when it comes to quality, durability and design. It’s impressive weight limit makes it the perfect choice for hosting multi-kid jumping sessions. Due to its versatility and safety, the Zupapa trampoline for kids gets two thumbs up from us. It is definitely a product for older kids, especially the 15-foot model since your younger ones might find it overwhelming. But if you’re worried about the trampoline’s height or bounce, we recommend getting the smaller model.

What We Like:
Comes in three sizes
Detachable stairs
Padding over the springs
The weight limit is 425 lbs

Our Concerns:
Lots of moving parts
Time-consuming assembly

Happy Trampoline Galactic Xtreme

Biggest Trampoline in the Galaxy

No matter if your kids are older or just want something that they’ll never outgrow, the Happy Trampoline Galactic Xtreme should be your ultimate choice.

This massive trampoline for kids (and grownups) comes in a couple of different sizes, with the biggest one being 13×23 feet. It has a weight capacity of up to 550 lbs, and it’s sure to make your backyard the talk of the town.

What Makes it a Great “Big Kid Trampoline”

The Galactic Xtreme makes the cut for one very simple reason – it is the biggest trampoline you can buy. If there is one thing kids love more than toys, it is GIANT TOYS and toys don’t get any bigger than this!

This trampoline measures 13 feet wide and 23 feet long, that’s bigger than most Tiny Houses and longer than a Giraffe is tall! With a weight limit of 550 lbs you can play bounce-host to the entire neighborhood.

Safety Features

One happy side effect of this trampoline being so massive is that it also makes it very safe to use, at least when fewer than 3 kids are using it at once. Kids tend to stay near the center of the mat when they bounce, and since this model is so huge your little ones will have very little contact with the net or the springs, which is where most accidents occur.

Since it is so big, Happy Trampoline equipped the Galactic Xtreme with an incredibly durable mat, as well as a double-dipped galvanized steel frame. Of course, there’s a mesh enclosure surrounding the entire trampoline. It’s made from a high-grade polyester mesh that’s almost impossible to rip.

Things to Consider

As you can imagine, a trampoline of this size does cost a lot of money. But you do have to look at it as an investment. It’s not like you’ll be buying a new trampoline every year, but rather something that’ll last you for years.

Bottom Line

Needless to say, we are head over heels for the Galactic Xtreme, and it’s definitely one of our favorite trampolines ever. It’s big enough to accommodate an entire family, but still safe so that even the youngest members can play on it. So if you’ve got the space in your backyard, we definitely recommend the Galactic Xtreme.

Finding the Absolute Best Trampoline for Toddlers & Preschoolers

Happy family on backyard trampoline

Now that we’ve counted down the 18 best trampolines for kids and toddlers, it’s time to see what makes or breaks a trampoline. What separates a good frame from a bad one, how tall should it be, and what makes a trampoline safe? These are just some of the questions that we’re going to answer today.

The Shape

As you’ve probably noticed, trampolines can come in a wide variety of shapes. They’re usually round or rectangular, but there are also rebounders, which are basically mini-trampolines. Some experts say that rectangular trampolines are the safest because they provide the most stability. On the other hand, round ones provide for a more significant rebound, and just a higher overall jump.

The Size

We’ve talked about a lot of trampolines that come in countless different sizes. As a general rule of thumb, we usually recommend smaller and lower trampolines for younger kids. That way, they can safely climb on board, bounce around, and not get overwhelmed. Over time, they will probably get bored of an itty bitty trampoline, so when you’re buying a new one, you also have to make sure that it’s going to be entertaining for a long time.

The Usability and Versatility

Most trampolines for younger kids tend to be smaller, which means that you can use them both indoors and outdoors. A lot of them also come with rubberized toes that help with stability and keep your floors scratch-free (if using inside). But as their size increases, so do the challenges. So before you settle on any trampoline, check how much space you have, and consider where you could store it.

The Weight Capacity
children playing together in a trampoline

Again, for obvious reasons, a trampoline for kids who are between the ages of 3 and 6 will have a smaller weight capacity. They’re usually solo trampolines, which means that only one kid can play at a time.

But as your kids grow and become bigger, having a trampoline with a really low weight load can be potentially dangerous. It’s also a safety hazard if multiple children want to play on it, which they almost always do.

Another thing to consider when it comes to weight capacity is whether you plan on jumping on the trampoline as well. Yes, these were all trampolines mainly intended for kids, but who are we kidding?

As long as the weight capacity is high enough, and the trampoline is big, no parent can resist sneaking in a bounce or two. So that’s just something to think about before making a purchase.

The Safety Features

As parents, we know that your number one priority is to always look at the safety features, especially when it comes to trampolines. So while they’re generally considered pretty safe, improper use or poor features can lead to injuries.

Depending on your child’s age, we recommend looking at a few things.

  • Does this trampoline for kids have an enclosure, and if so, what is it made from?
  • Where are all the springs located, and if they’re in the enclosure, do they have any padding?
  • You should also check for padding on poles, as well as the mat material.

If you’re having trouble deciding between a few models, our suggestion is to write down their safety features, and then see who comes out on top.

The Price

Depending on the manufacturer, size, shape, features, and materials, trampolines come in a wide range of prices. They can cost anywhere from around $100 up to a few thousand dollars. While it is important to look at a trampoline as an investment, it still shouldn’t break the bank. It’s always a good idea to set a budget beforehand, so you don’t get swept up in the flashy ads.

The Bonus Features

Trampolines are, honestly, a hoot and a half even if they don’t have any bells and whistles. That being said, having a basketball hoop or slide to go along with it equals two hoots. So again, while it’s not absolutely necessary, it is cool when trampolines have something extra because it’ll help keep your kiddos interested in them for a longer time.

The Assembly Process

You’ve seen by now that most of the problems that we’ve experienced so far have something to do with the assembly. Sometimes, the instruction booklet is unnecessarily complicated and there’s no help online. Other times, the trampoline has a ton of moving parts, so the assembly is time-consuming.

If you’re not particularly handy with tools or don’t have a lot of time to assemble the trampoline, we recommend sticking with the simpler models.

Making Trampolines Safer and Minimizing Risks

While most trampoline companies are doing their part to ensure your children’s safety, you have to do yours, too. For starters, no matter how old your kids are or how big the trampoline is, you should always supervise. Have at least one adult watching the kids who will make sure that they’re using the trampoline the right way.

You should also know that having two or more children on a trampoline at the same time increases the risk of injury. They might accidentally bump into one another or hit each other, which is, obviously, never fun.

Another thing that will determine the trampoline’s safety is how well it was assembled. That’s why, if you’re feeling unsure, it’s best to call a handyman to do the work for you. Otherwise, you might have springs popping out or see the net tearing, which we don’t have to tell you, is extremely dangerous.

To Sum Up

That is all we have for today and our special review. We do hope that it helps you find the best trampoline for kids that both you and they will enjoy for a really long time. And if you have any questions or thoughts for us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
